| Foretelling the arrival of spring with its sweet smelling golden blossoms, the Huisache provides one of the first and much needed sources of food for our migratory birds. This wonderful tree, hardy and fast growing, will reach upwards of 30 feet. |
| The Texas and Mexican Olives are smaller trees, reaching nearly 20 feet, which produce large elegant tissue-like white and yellow flowers that contrast beautifully against its dark velvety green leaves. These flowers are favored by hummingbirds and butterflies. This tree, with its blossoms and edible fruit, provide habitat and an important food source to many birds, insects, and mammals. |
| Fiddlewood, with its edible berries and fragrant white flowers, is relished by wildlife throughout the summer. While often shrub-like the fiddlewood can grow upto18 feet in height. |
